Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Planning Your Awesome Adventure?

Everything you need to know before you book.

Most Popular Questions

What makes Awesome Adventures different from other ATV tour companies?
Awesome Adventures operates on private trails in Eldorado Canyon and includes a Free Photo & Video Media Package with every tour. We offer hotel pickup and self-drive options and are one of the few Las Vegas off-road tour companies that allows guests ages 16–17 to drive their own ATV. We also offer Ghost Town, Gold Mine, and Colorado River experiences that many competitors do not.

How much do tours cost?
There is no single price for all Awesome Adventures tours.
Pricing depends on:
• Which tour you choose
• Whether you ride an ATV or RZR
• The type of RZR selected (2-seat, 4-seat, etc.)
• Number of guests
• Hotel pickup or self-drive option
Because we offer multiple tours and vehicle options, pricing varies. Visit our website to view current pricing, availability, and tour options for your preferred date.

What is your cancellation policy?

Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund if the cancellation request is received at least 72 hours before the scheduled tour time. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the tour, no-shows, missed pickups, or missed arrival times are not eligible for a refund. If Awesome Adventures cancels a tour for any reason, guests will receive a full refund or may choose to reschedule based on availability.

Can younger children participate?

Yes. Children may participate as passengers if they meet the minimum safety requirements for the tour. Driver age requirements are different and vary by vehicle type. If your child is younger than the listed age requirements, please contact our office to discuss available options.

What are the age requirements?

Ages 5–15: May ride as a passenger in a 2-Seater or 4-Seater RZR with a parent or guide (minimum 42 lbs, maximum 350 lbs).
Ages 16–17: May drive an ATV (no driver’s license required), but cannot drive a RZR.
Ages 18+: May drive an ATV. No driver’s license required, but must have a credit card on file.
Ages 21+: May drive a RZR. Must present a valid photo ID and the credit card used to make the reservation.

Do you offer hotel pickup?

Yes. We offer both hotel pickup and self-drive options for most of our tours. For groups of 6 guests or fewer, hotel pickup is available from select Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas hotels. For groups of 7 or more, pickup may be available from additional Las Vegas hotels and accommodations.

Guests who prefer to drive themselves may choose the self-drive option and meet us at our private tour location in Eldorado Canyon, approximately 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.

Do I need a driver’s license?

No. A driver’s license is not required to drive an ATV or RZR. However, guests must be at least 21 years old to drive a RZR and must present a valid photo ID and the credit card used to make the reservation.

Are photos or videos included?

Yes! Every Awesome Adventures tour includes a Free Photo & Video Media Package (a $119 value) at no additional charge. Your photos and videos are typically uploaded within 24–48 hours after your tour.

Which tour should I choose?

We offer five different tours ranging from ATV adventures to RZR experiences that include ghost towns, gold mines, and the Colorado River. The best tour depends on your group size, interests, age of participants, and whether you prefer an ATV or RZR. If you’re unsure, contact our office and we’ll help you choose the best option.

Age, Driver, and Safety Requirements

Are your tours family-friendly?

Yes! Children can participate as passengers if they meet the minimum safety requirements, including the minimum weight requirement of 42 pounds. Families, teens, and first-time riders are welcome.

Can teenagers drive?

Yes. Awesome Adventures is one of the few Las Vegas off-road tour companies that allows guests ages 16–17 to drive their own ATV.

Do I need to know how to ride an ATV or RZR?

No. Our guides will provide safety instruction, operating guidance, and hands-on training before the tour begins. Most guests are first-time riders, and our vehicles are automatic and beginner-friendly. If you ever feel uncomfortable operating the vehicle, please let your guide know. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities.

Does everyone need to sign a waiver?

Yes. Every guest participating in the tour—including drivers, passengers, and non-riding guests accompanying the group—must complete a waiver before the tour begins. For guests under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the waiver on their behalf.

What is the weight limit?

Minimum weight is 42 lbs. Maximum weight is 350 lbs. Guests must also be able to properly wear and fasten the seatbelt in the RZR. No exceptions can be made due to safety and insurance requirements.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Helmet sizes range from Youth to 5X. To ensure a proper helmet fit, hair must be worn flat. Buns, large hair clips, high ponytails, and hairstyles or accessories that prevent the helmet from fitting properly are not permitted.

Can I take Uber or Lyft to the tour location?

We do not recommend using Uber or Lyft to reach our tour location. Our private trail system is located in a remote area approximately 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, and rideshare drivers are often unavailable for return trips after your tour.

Many guests have experienced difficulty finding transportation back to Las Vegas after being dropped off. If you are not using our hotel pickup option, we strongly recommend driving yourself or arranging round-trip transportation in advance.

If you have questions about transportation options, please contact our office before booking.

Can I just show up without a reservation?

No. All tours must be booked in advance through our website. We do not accept walk-ins, and same-day availability is not guaranteed.
We recommend booking ahead to secure your preferred tour, date, and time.

Yes. Restroom facilities are available at our tour location for guests before and after their tour.

Tour Safety, Risks & Policies

What if I get hurt on the tour?

Safety is our top priority, and our guides provide safety instruction and equipment before every tour. However, ATV and RZR tours are outdoor adventure activities that involve inherent risks. All participants are required to sign a liability waiver before participating and must follow their guide’s instructions at all times.

In the event of an injury, our team will assist in coordinating emergency services if needed. Please be aware that the nearest hospital is approximately 45 minutes from our tour location.

Can I go on tour if I am pregnant?

No. For the safety of both mother and baby, pregnant guests are not permitted to participate in ATV or RZR tours.

What happens if it rains?

We monitor weather conditions closely. Light rain often improves trail conditions and reduces dust. Tours operate in most weather conditions. If conditions are deemed unsafe, Awesome Adventures may delay, reschedule, or cancel the tour. If we cancel a tour, guests will receive a full refund or may reschedule based on availability.

What happens if I damage the equipment?
Guests are responsible for damage caused by reckless driving, negligence, failure to follow guide instructions, or misuse of equipment.

Damage charges vary depending on the vehicle and severity of the damage. Examples include:

ATV rollover/flip: Minimum $300 plus parts and labor
2-Seater RZR rollover/tip-over: Minimum $3,500 plus parts and labor
4-Seater RZR rollover/tip-over: Minimum $4,500 plus parts and labor
6-Seater Ranger rollover/tip-over: Minimum $4,500 plus parts and labor
• Minor damage (such as broken lights, body panels, or accessories): Charged based on repair or replacement costs

Any applicable damage charges will be charged to the card on file.

Vehicles, Equipment & Experience

What equipment do you use, and how fast do you go?

Our ATV fleet consists primarily of Honda TRX 250cc ATVs, which are fully automatic and beginner-friendly.
Our off-road vehicle fleet includes Polaris RZR 900cc and 1000cc models, as well as Polaris Ranger 800cc vehicles. Depending on the tour, vehicles may be available in both 2-seater and 4-seater configurations.
You may hear these vehicles referred to as RZRs, Rangers, UTVs, side-by-sides, or dune buggies.

Tour speeds vary based on terrain, trail conditions, and guest experience levels, but rides typically reach speeds of up to 25 mph.

Can I book a longer ride time?

Yes. We offer several tours with different ride lengths, and longer ride times may also be available through certain private or custom tour options.

If you’re interested in spending more time on the trails, please contact our office with your preferred tour, group size, and whether you’ll need hotel pickup or plan to self-drive. We’ll discuss available options and provide pricing based on your group’s needs.

Can I bring lunch or snacks?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring snacks or lunch with you. Water is provided on all tours. Guests are welcome to enjoy the views and relax at our location before or after their tour when time permits. However, because guides and transportation vehicles may be scheduled for other tours, extended stays may not always be possible.

Some tours include lunch or offer lunch as an optional add-on. Please review your tour details for specific information.

Can friends or family go on the tour if they’re not riding?

In some cases, yes. Non-riding guests may be able to accompany the group for a small fee, depending on the tour and available space. Please contact our office in advance for availability, pricing, and details.

Are there snakes?

Yes. This is the Mojave Desert, and native wildlife—including rattlesnakes and Mojave green rattlesnakes—can occasionally be found in the area.

Fortunately, snake encounters are rare. Snakes generally avoid people, dislike noise and vibration, and are most active during warmer months. If you see a snake, simply give it plenty of space and notify your guide.
