The Adventure Zone is our outdoor recreation area where guests can relax, socialize, play games and continue the fun after their tour experience. Tour lengths range from approximately 2 hours to 5.5 hours depending on the experience selected. Some tours focus primarily on ATV, RZR or UTV riding, while others combine off-road adventure with Ghost Town exploration, Gold Mine tours, sightseeing, lunch, outdoor games and additional activities. Yes. Klarna may be available on eligible bookings, allowing guests to split payments over time. Available payment options and terms are displayed during the online checkout process. Approval and payment plans are determined by Klarna.
Yes. Members of your group may book separately as long as everyone selects the same tour, date and time. Each guest is responsible for their own payment, waiver and any applicable incidentals. If you have a large group or would like help coordinating reservations, please contact our office before booking.
Yes. Each person can book their own spot. Everyone will be responsible for their own payment, waiver and any applicable incidentals. Please make sure everyone books the same tour, date and time if you want to participate together.
Group discounts may be available for groups of 8 or more guests. Please contact our office for group pricing, availability and the best tour options for your group.
Yes, subject to availability. Guests may be able to upgrade from an ATV to a RZR after booking for an additional fee. The current upgrade cost is $88. Please contact our office before your tour so we can check availability and update your reservation.
Yes. All tours must be booked in advance through our website or by contacting our office. We do not accept walk-ins, and same-day availability is not guaranteed. Booking ahead helps secure your preferred tour, date, time and vehicle option.
No. Reservations must be paid using a credit or debit card. The name on the reservation should match the photo ID and payment method used at booking. A card on file is also required for incidentals or applicable vehicle damage.
Yes. If someone else will be attending in place of the original booking guest, or if another person will be responsible for incidentals and damages, please contact our office before your tour so we can update the reservation. The responsible guest must be present with a valid photo ID and the credit card associated with the booking.
Please contact our office as soon as possible. Guests may cancel for a full refund if the cancellation request is received at least 72 hours before the scheduled tour time. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the tour, no-shows, missed pickups or missed arrival times are not eligible for a refund. If Awesome Adventures cancels a tour for any reason, guests will receive a full refund or may choose to reschedule based on availability.
Guests should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled tour time. Guests arriving more than 15 minutes after their scheduled tour time may have their reservation canceled and no refund will be provided. If you are running late, please call our office immediately. Depending on availability, we may be able to move you to another tour departure time.
No. The office sends a detailed message the day before your tour with your exact pickup or arrival time, guide name, contact information and directions if you are self-driving. You must reply to the confirmation text and/or email. If we do not receive confirmation during business hours, your tour may be considered canceled and no refund will be issued.
Age, Weight and Driver Requirements
Age requirements vary depending on the vehicle and tour selected. Ages 5-15 may ride as passengers in select 2-seater or 4-seater RZRs with a parent or guide. Ages 16-17 may drive their own ATV and must meet all size and safety requirements; a parent or guardian must be on tour with them at all times. No driver’s license is required for ATV operation. Ages 18 and older may drive an ATV. Ages 21 and older may drive a RZR and must present a valid photo ID and the credit card used to make the reservation. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.
Yes. Children may participate as passengers if they meet the minimum safety requirements for the tour. Many experiences are designed for guests ages 5 and older. A parent or guardian must be on tour with them at all times. Driver age requirements vary by vehicle type, so please contact our office if you have questions about the best option for your child.
Yes. Awesome Adventures is one of the few Las Vegas off-road tour companies that allows guests ages 16-17 to drive their own ATV. Guests ages 16-17 cannot drive a RZR. Teen drivers must meet all size and safety requirements, and a parent or guardian must be on tour with them at all times. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.
A driver’s license is not required to drive an ATV. Guests must meet the age and safety requirements. Guests must be at least 21 years old to drive a RZR and must present a valid photo ID and the credit card used to make the reservation.
Weight requirements are based on vehicle safety guidelines. RZR passengers must be at least 42 lbs and no more than 375 lbs. ATV riders must be at least 75 lbs and no more than 375 lbs. Guests must also be able to properly wear and secure all required safety equipment.
No. For the safety of both mother and baby, pregnant guests are not permitted to participate in ATV or RZR tours.
Yes, many grandparents participate and enjoy the experience, especially on tours with RZR options, Ghost Town experiences, Gold Mine tours and Adventure Zone activities. Guests should review age, weight, mobility and safety requirements before booking.
Yes. Every guest participating in the tour, including drivers, passengers and non-riding guests accompanying the group, must complete a waiver before the tour begins. For guests under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the waiver on their behalf.
ATV, RZR and UTV Questions
An ATV, or All-Terrain Vehicle, is a single-rider, four-wheel off-road vehicle that is operated using handlebars. A RZR, pronounced Razor, is a side-by-side off-road vehicle that drives more like a car and includes seats, seatbelts, a steering wheel and a roll cage. RZRs are available in 2-seat and 4-seat configurations and are sometimes referred to as dune buggies or UTVs. If you want a more independent riding experience, an ATV may be the best choice. If you prefer to ride with family or friends in the same vehicle, a RZR may be the better option.
A UTV, or Utility Task Vehicle, is a side-by-side off-road vehicle with seats, seatbelts, a steering wheel and a roll cage. Guests may also hear these vehicles called RZRs, Rangers, side-by-sides or dune buggies. They are popular for guests who want to ride with family or friends in the same vehicle.
Yes. Our ATVs, RZRs and UTVs are automatic and beginner-friendly. Guides provide safety instruction and operating guidance before the ride begins.
Tour speeds vary based on terrain, trail conditions, safety requirements and group experience. Rides typically reach speeds up to approximately 20-25 mph when conditions allow. Guides set the pace for the safety and enjoyment of the entire group.
Yes, guests who want to ride together may choose available RZR or UTV options such as 2-seater or 4-seater vehicles. ATVs are single-rider vehicles. At the halfway point, you have an opportunity to switch drivers, this way both guests have an opportunity to drive and take photos as passenger.
No. For safety, insurance and property access reasons, guests may not bring personal ATVs, UTVs, RZRs, motorcycles or off-road vehicles onto our private trails. All tours use Awesome Adventures vehicles.
Yes. We offer several tours with different ride lengths, and longer ride times may be available through certain private or custom tour options. If you want more time on the trails, please contact our office with your preferred tour, group size and transportation needs.
First-Time Rider Questions
Absolutely. Most guests have little or no off-road riding experience before joining us. Our professional guides provide safety instructions, hands-on training and support throughout the tour. Our ATVs and RZRs are automatic, beginner-friendly vehicles designed to help first-time riders feel comfortable while still providing an exciting adventure.
Yes. While our tours are beginner-friendly, experienced riders enjoy the scenic private trails, canyon terrain, off-road adventure and breathtaking Nevada desert landscapes. Our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for both first-time and experienced riders.
It is completely normal to feel nervous before your first ATV or RZR tour. Our guides take time to explain the vehicles, provide training and answer questions before the ride begins. Many first-time riders tell us they were nervous at first and left wishing they had booked a longer adventure.
Yes. Before every riding tour, guides provide safety instruction, operating guidance and hands-on training so guests understand how to operate the vehicle and what to expect on the trail.
Yes. Your guide stays with the group and is there to assist throughout the ride. If you feel uncomfortable or need help, let your guide know immediately.
What to Wear, Gear and Safety
We recommend comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and desert conditions. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. We recommend long pants and long sleeve shirts to protect you from the weather, desert terrain, and cacti. Plus, your legs are close to the ATV’s muffler, which can get hot if you wear shorts. We recommend not wearing white because dirt and sweat may stain. People frequently lose their phones, wallets, keys, and other belongings, so we highly recommend zipper pockets or a small pack to hold your loose items. We also recommend sunglasses and sunscreen.
Yes. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Sneakers or boots are recommended. Sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, slides, high heels, slip-ons and open-toe shoes are not allowed.
All required safety gear is included at no additional charge. We provide helmets in all sizes, from Youth to Adult 6X, goggles, gloves, and head socks (also called shiestys or balaclavas) for under the helmet. Guests must wear a properly fitted helmet while participating in the tour. Unlimited water is provided on every tour. We provide everything else for your adventure. Suggested items to bring include sunscreen, snacks, drinks, and hydration packets.

Yes. Guests may bring a GoPro or action camera. Chest and body mounts are recommended so the camera is not lost during the tour. Helmet mounts may not be allowed due to safety and equipment concerns.

Vehicles are automatic and beginner-friendly, and guides remain with guests throughout the experience. Guests must follow all guide instructions and safety requirements while participating.
No. Guests may not participate in any tour while under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, illegal drugs or any substance that may impair judgment or reaction time. For the safety of all participants, Awesome Adventures reserves the right to refuse service to any guest who appears intoxicated. No refunds will be provided in these situations.
ATV and RZR tours are outdoor adventure activities that involve inherent risks. Safety instructions and equipment are provided before every tour, and guests must follow guide instructions at all times. In the event of an injury, our team will assist in coordinating emergency services if needed. The nearest hospital is approximately 45 minutes from our tour location.
Yes. This is the Mojave Desert, and native wildlife, including rattlesnakes and Mojave green rattlesnakes, can occasionally be found in the area. Snake encounters are rare. If you see a snake, give it plenty of space and notify your guide.
Transportation and Location
Yes. We offer pickup from four designated Las Vegas hotel pickup locations: Excalibur Hotel, Horseshoe Hotel, Resorts World and Golden Nugget Hotel. For groups of 6 or more guests, we may be able to pick up directly from your hotel. Pickup is a $20 round-trip transportation fee per person and is included in the tour price when selecting a hotel pickup option. Please review tour prices with hotel pickup for current availability and details.
Yes. Guests may choose the self-drive option and meet us directly at our private tour location in Eldorado Canyon near Nelson, Nevada. Self-drive guests receive directions and arrival information before the tour.
Our private tour location in historic Eldorado Canyon near Nelson, Nevada is approximately 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Guests may choose to drive themselves or select one of our hotel pickup options.

No, we do not recommend using Uber or Lyft to reach our tour location. Our private trail system is located in a remote area approximately 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Rideshare can cost up to $100 one way, and there is no guarantee a driver will return to pick you up after the tour. If you are not using our hotel pickup option, we strongly recommend driving yourself or arranging round-trip transportation in advance.
Self-drive guests should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled tour time. This allows time for check-in, waivers, safety preparation and tour instructions.

Tour Experience and Adventure Zone
Awesome Adventures operates guided tours on private property in historic Eldorado Canyon near Nelson, Nevada. Tours are conducted in groups, and guests ride in a single-file formation behind the guide to ensure safety and provide the best overall experience. Our guides lead the group, share local history, assist guests throughout the ride and stop at scenic locations for photos and water breaks.
Yes. Guests ride in line behind the guide. This helps maintain safe spacing, keeps the group together and allows the guide to set the proper pace based on terrain, weather and group experience level.
Yes. This is a real off-road desert adventure, and dust is a natural part of the experience. The good news is we help clean you off after the ride using our high-pressure air hose system before you continue with the rest of your adventure.
Absolutely. Approximately halfway through the ride, guests stop for a water break, scenic photos and stories about the area. Our guides also take photos and videos throughout the experience as part of our FREE Photo & Video Media Package.
Yes. Your guide will lead designated photo stops during the experience. For safety reasons, guests should not stop outside designated areas unless instructed by the guide.
Our trails offer a fun combination of adventure, scenery and excitement. Guests experience wide-open desert stretches where they can enjoy the ride, along with twists, turns, rolling terrain and scenic canyon landscapes that add to the fun and adrenaline. Our routes are designed to be enjoyable for both first-time and experienced riders.
Lunch is included with the Old West & Gold Mine Adventure, Colorado River Adrenaline Tour and Ultimate Adventure Tour. Guests on the Eldorado Canyon Tour may add lunch or snacks during the booking process. We offer a variety of lunch options. Please visit our website to view the current lunch menu.
Yes. We offer a wide variety of lunch options and can often accommodate dietary requests. Please review the lunch menu on our website and contact our office before your tour if you have specific dietary needs.
Yes. Guests are welcome to bring snacks and drinks and enjoy them before or after their tour under our shaded patio area. Water is provided on all tours, and select tours may include lunch or offer lunch as an optional add-on. We also offer snacks on site for $5.00, which includes a chip, a cookie, and a soda.
In some cases, yes. Non-riding guests may be able to accompany the group for a small fee, depending on the tour and available space. They can enjoy the Ghost Town, photo opportunities, outdoor games and desert scenery while the group is on tour. Please contact our office before booking for availability and pricing.

Located in historic Eldorado Canyon near Nelson, Nevada, the 1861 Ghost Town is one of Southern Nevada’s most famous attractions. Guests can explore vintage vehicles, mining relics, historic buildings, movie-set-style scenery and incredible photo opportunities. Many visitors describe it as feeling like the Old West and Mad Max at the same time.

Yes. The Ghost Town experience is a walking tour and is separate from the ATV/RZR ride. Guests do not ride through the Ghost Town on ATVs or RZRs.
The 1861 Ghost Town experience involves walking on uneven gravel surfaces, dirt pathways and historic outdoor areas. Guests should be comfortable walking and standing for extended periods of time. Due to the terrain and nature of the attraction, the Ghost Town experience is generally not recommended for wheelchairs or guests with limited mobility. If you have questions about accessibility, please contact our office before booking.
No. The Ghost Town walking tour includes gravel, dirt pathways and uneven terrain, so strollers are not recommended or allowed for the tour experience.
The Techatticup Gold Mine is a historic gold mine in Eldorado Canyon near Nelson, Nevada. It gives guests a look into Nevada mining history, the lives of early miners, historic equipment, underground mine features and the gold and treasures that brought people to the area beginning in 1861.

Weather, Cancellation and Conduct Policies
Yes. Awesome Adventures operates 364 days a year and is closed only on Christmas.
We operate tours in rain, wind, cold and heat. The only time we cancel is when conditions are unsafe, such as flooding on the trails. If Awesome Adventures cancels because trails are flooded, guests receive a 100% refund or may reschedule based on availability. We have only had to cancel due to flooding twice in 10 years. We also run a sunset tour; riding with the sun setting behind you is beautiful, plus it is much cooler in the shaded canyons on our 5pm tour.
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund if the cancellation request is received at least 72 hours before the scheduled tour time. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the tour, no-shows, missed pickups or missed arrival times are not eligible for a refund. If Awesome Adventures cancels a tour for any reason, guests receive a full refund or may choose to reschedule based on availability. We also run a sunset tour; riding with the sun setting behind you is beautiful, plus it is much cooler in the shaded canyons on our 5pm tour.
Guests are responsible for applicable vehicle damage. The card on file may be charged for repair or replacement costs resulting from vehicle damage. Guests must follow all guide instructions, safety rules and operating procedures throughout the tour. Additional details regarding damage responsibility, conduct requirements and vehicle policies are provided during the booking process and guest check-in.
Guests must follow all safety instructions and guide directions while participating in any Awesome Adventures experience. No alcohol consumption, intoxication, marijuana use or illegal drug use is allowed before or during the tour. No refunds are issued for late arrivals, missed tours, unsafe behavior or policy violations. Guests are responsible for applicable vehicle damage. Failure to follow guide instructions may result in removal from the tour without refund.
No. Guests may not participate after consuming marijuana or any substance that may impair judgment or reaction time. This is for the safety of the guest, the guide and the entire group.
